Troy E. Dunn

Troy E. Dunn is a retired Major General in the United States Air Force with more than 30 years of leadership experience where he successfully led initiatives in emerging technologies, particularly in the realm of artificial intelligence and talent management.

As a C-level executive, Troy brings a wealth of leadership experience managing large-scale operations and budgets. Notably, he led a global workforce of 2,200 employees with a strong track record of fiscal responsibility and adherence to regulatory requirements. Additionally, his involvement in governance and board leadership roles provided him with valuable insights into e􏰀ective board operations, risk management, and strategic leadership. Troy partnered with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to establish the USAF-MIT Artificial Intelligence Accelerator and develop AI-focused educational programs for Department of Defense executives.

Troy sits on several boards, including a quantum technology company where he provides insights into quantum computing and artificial intelligence and their impact on talent management, economic security, and national security. He serves as an adjunct staff member at the RAND Corporation and a Senior Fellow at the Center for Naval Analyses. Troy received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the United States Air Force Academy; Master of Arts in Business from Webster University; Master of Arts in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University; and MIT Seminar XXI Fellowship and MIT Sloan Executive Education.

Troy has been married to Sonya for 30 years, and they live in the Washington DC metropolitan area. They have four adult children. While his daughters are career professionals, his two sons are on the autism spectrum. Troy is an avid golfer, and he enjoys Special Olympics golf with his sons. He appreciates that “bogeys can be blessings” especially when maintaining a good sense of humor and a positive attitude.

Troy has delivered multiple keynote presentations internationally on leadership with his current one titled “Start with Yes.”
